Bioplastics Award for Amcor
05-Dec-2008
Multi-national packaging company Amcor Flexibles has won the 2008 Bioplastics Award in the category Best Bioplastics Application – Packaging for its NaturePlus compostable film used to pack Sainsbury's SO Organic Wild Rocket salad.
The film is part of the company’s NaturePlus range of biodegradable, compostable and recyclable products.
“Sainsbury’s challenged us to deliver a non-genetically modified, compostable film for their organic salads. It has to run in a wet environment with no adverse impact on packing speeds," said Peter Ettridge, Amcor’s sustainable product development manager.
The awards aim to raise the profile of bioplastics and recognize the best innovations in the sector.
